The Everyday Jiu Jitsu Podcast Ep 48: Mentoring a Mentor
Listen now
Description
This week I talk about developing potential instructors and mentors in Jiu Jitsu. I love this topic because I believe one of my main goals as a BJJ coach is to develop not only competent Jiu-Jitsu players but effective mentors (who can also create effective mentors) as well. I discuss identifying these special individuals in the room, ways you can support them through their journey, helping them navigate through potential obstacles, imposter syndrome, and creating a fun gym culture that fosters growth. Excelling in any skill often requires the support and guidance of a great mentor, and our sport is no different. This is a special position that shouldn’t be taken lightly, and can really positively impact someone’s life.
