Description
Yvette Curtis is the founder of Wave Wahines CIC, a surf and fitness club based in North Devon which aims to provide affordable and accessible surf training for women and girls. She has also recently launched a diversity programme funded by Sport England and Active Devon, introducing a group of Syrian girls to the joys of surfing and the ocean, some for the very first time. In this episode, Yvette shares what inspired her to start Wave Wahines , despite her own limited experience of surfing and the benefits it has brought to her personally as well as the women and girls she supports. She also talks about her passion for driving greater inclusivity and diversity in surfing and how this has resulted in her work broadening access to the waves for those who might not have felt able to participate.  To find out more about Yvette's work with Wave Wahines visit: www.wavewahines.co.uk Instagram: @wave_wahines Facebook: Wave Wahines CIC Twitter: @wave_wahines To contact Nicki about The Everyday Adventure Podcast, 1-1 Coaching or "Resilience & Adventure" Workshops: Email: [email protected] Website: https://www.resiliencework.co.uk Instagram: @resilienceatwork Facebook: The Everyday Adventure Club Twitter: @resilience_worx
