Catie Friend is a presenter, commentator, mother of two and host of the brilliantly named podcast "Chatting to a Friend." In her podcast, she speaks to incredible women about their lives and adventures, but she also has some pretty impressive adventure credentials of her own. In 2018, she competed in the Patrouille des Glaciers from Zermatt to Verbier and she has also completed the Half Marathon Des Sables. She commentates for the ISMF (International Ski Mountaineering Federation) World Cup circuit and is the English Speaking voice of the Africa Eco Race (formerly the Paris Dakar Rally).  She also an experienced presentation skills coach, using her experience to presenting to support private and corporate client from small business owners to multinational CEOs. In this episode, Catie shares what has inspired her to take on these adventurous challenges and how she came to take up sport at the relatively late age of 38.  She also speaks openly about learning to navigate the guilt of spending time away from her children in order to do the things that she loves and the impact this has had on her confidence, self-belief and sense of of identity.
