Tune in to hear more about what is palliative care and how to choose between palliative care and hospice, and when to call each of them. Ted Dropcho, MD, is a Palliative Care physician practicing at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. He serves patients with serious illness and their families. He finds meaning in his work through focusing on patients’ priorities and values to help navigate their courses with serious illness. He and the other members of the palliative care team give additional support to patients and their care networks, and they treat symptoms to improve quality of life. He trained in Internal Medicine at Indiana University before coming to University of Washington for his Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship.
