“Your latest episode spoke to a truth that has been denied for a while now, particularly in the New York Times. Biden is clearly performing poorly this election. His approval rating resembles that of Jimmy Carter in 1980, he is polling abysmally in the swing states, and a strong majority of Americans don’t want him to run. The polls underestimated Trump’s numbers in both elections, which means he is likely doing even better than polls suggest.
Biden is hemorrhaging support with minority and young voters. The party doesn’t win without either. How does he possibly get from where he is to the plus four or five necessary to overcome the electoral college disadvantage when nothing moves his numbers up? Meanwhile, Trump’s approval rating has been rising as Biden’s has been falling. Trump’s criminal struggles are somehow making him more popular! He thrives off negativity.
We the people deserve a Democrat who is actually capable of winning. In 2020 Biden was that candidate. In 2024 he is not. It took guts for you to speak out when your paper’s bias is to do the opposite. You’re absolutely right that the age discussion is not a media creation. It’s been going on for years. Biden may be a great president but in 2024 he is running is an awful and cringy campaign and elections are won or lost with campaigns.
