While in college, Tonika volunteered and mentored at the local YMCA and Boys and Girls Club. Since college, Tonika has had a passion to authentically empower and encourage young girls and women. Upon graduation, she returned to California where she held various jobs working with at-risk children.  In these various agencies, her passion for youth was often on full display. In 2009, Tonika joined the Los Angeles Police Department as an officer.  She was gifted and favored enough to hold various positions within LAPD working with youth in the community, even as a “rookie”. This again gave her the opportunity to pour into the lives of the children that she worked with.  Currently, Tonika is continuing to develop in her passion to inspire and pour into the lives of young ladies. Most recently, she became a Certified John Maxwell Speaker and Coach with the John Maxwell Team.
