“Initially I liked how both spouses participated about equally in the podcast. However, after a few episodes, I was shocked to hear Selena bash feminists. I wondered how a woman can possibly be anti-feminist! But I can’t blame her. Selena’s view is unfortunately a perpetuation of the long-held, long-preached MANmade “Christian” ideas that women are inferior. These ideas are so strong in our culture that even women may believe them! The book “The Making of Biblical Womanhood” by Beth Allison Barr explains in much more depth. I feel bad for only giving 2 stars, because I did actually like a lot of the initial content I heard, but I couldn’t get Selena’s comment out of my head and eventually could no longer bring myself to listen, particularly when I saw that an episode topic was about a husband getting jealous when his wife wore yoga pants to the gym. The mere possibility that the husband’s view might be validated and the wife’s might even be vilified was too big a turnoff. Maybe they ended up saying the husband was in the wrong—I hope that’s the case! But as I said, I couldn’t bring myself to listen, already hearing plenty of anti-feminist (i.e. anti female) content in my daily life as a woman.”
