“While most of the financial advice seems sound, some of the messaging is skewed.
Bringing on a Reagan economist to tell us that the pandemic wasn’t our fault, but we failed because we needed government help, and the government doesn’t help, seems like some right-wing-nut indoctrination. It’s disingenuous at best.
Does redistribution of wealth decrease overall wealth? Yes, slightly. However, that wasn’t the purpose of the CARES Act. The purpose was to keep people home and help to prevent the spread of a deadly and highly contagious virus that was overwhelming our hospitals (so that more people were also dying from heart attacks and car accidents because there was no room at the ER) and wreaking havoc on our economy.
Take the financial advice with a grain of salt with the knowledge that the point of this podcast is to sell products. And make your own judgements on the politics.”
