When the Miami Dolphins selected Olivier Vernon in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the South Florida native not only turned a dream into reality, but he became the epitome of homegrown talent. Born in Miami, Vernon attended middle school a mile and a half away from Hard Rock Stadium before making his name on that same field, first with the Miami Hurricanes and then terrorizing opposing quarterbacks as the Dolphins starting right defensive end.
