Forest Educator Spotlight: The Power of Initiation and Rites of Passage Part One
Listen now
Description
There are few things that are more universally shared by humanity than comparative mythology and the 'initiatory experience'.   In this episode, we explore the incredible power that Initiations have in our individual and collective psyches, and how we can use this understanding to support our students in their learning and development. We also explore the 'Rite of Passage' ceremonies and how they served multiple functions in a small village or community for tens of thousands of years.  Bringing this understanding and inner longing to our consciousness is a profound and effective tool that nature educators can use to shorten the time in which students are 'settling in' or are feeling anxious, as well as support them in inner growth and leadership development with excellent outcomes.
