“New Space 1999 Thumbs Up !
I was 12 when season one first aired.
I lived in a town that didn’t have a channel that carried the series. My grandmother who lived in the next town over had cable so I was able to see the episodes Breakaway, Force of Life, Guardian of Piri and Alpha Child. In 1991 I found the partial VHS release of Earthbound, Matter if Life and Death, Voyagers Return and Guardian of Piri (for a second time) It wasn’t until 1992 when I purchased the Laser Disc version of the entire aeries that I was able to see the entire series. I was excited to see season one but when I saw season two I have to say I was a bit confused. I had read of the series additions and changes in Starlog Magazine back before the original run of the second series but I had hoped it would be the same as season one but with new characters.
That being said I didn’t enjoy season 2 much.
Season one is brilliant as far as I’m concerned and remains one of my favorite series.
