Interesting, but questions are softball.
The show has a folksy style; the intent is to humanize and help the audience to become more familiar with political figures as people. It avoids controversy. Questions are softballs. Republicans are not interviewed. Candidates who are not Pols favorites are not interviewed. Democrats are not asked probing or uncomfortable questions. For example, John Hickenlooper stated that he “wants to meet the people where they’re at.” However, Longmont and Broomfield voters were “at” limiting gas and oil drilling expansion in their areas, and Hick as Governor intervened to ban localities from limiting O&G. There was no “meet them where they’re at”. It would have been important to challenge Hick on, if elected, does he see his role as advocating for fossil fuel industry.
