Politely cringing
My intent is not to be hurtful in any way, just honest. Whilst I recognise Katie would have a decent degree of knowledge in her field, as a fellow Ayurvedic practitioner and yoga teacher of a decade myself, with deep study alongside masters in Vedic philosophy and Tantric practices, Katie’s work is highly white-washed and incredibly Americanised. There is a ditzy, “sexy” dilution and disrespectful taste to the way the ancient practices of Tantra and Ayurveda are presented here and on her website. I’m saddened that this is just reinforcing the ignorance levels that Westerners collectively have around these timeless traditions. “The Ghee Spot”,,, yes, clever play on words, but beyond that.. it’s a desperate tasteless plea for attention anchored in a lack of ignorant integrity.
