An excellent, well produced (with love) podcast
This is a ’nerdy’ podcast in the best sense of the word. It goes very in depth with the life and music of Jerry Goldsmith and has a high production value. There are interviews with people who knew Goldsmith both on a work related and personal level, and there are recordings of Goldsmith himself. The hosts love for and knowledge of Goldsmiths music shines through the entire podcast and it is edited to have a nice flow with no ‘waste of time’. The sound of the podcast is clear and when the conversation is about the music, the music themes play in the background or is given some time to play for the listeners, to make it possible to follow the subject on the fly. This is not a podcast to have playing in the background, listening to with just one ear. It requires your full attention. But if you can give it that, it is absolutely worth it! A great achievement of a podcast! Thanks!

I love this show. The hosts are really well-informed, passionate. The choice to do the show chronologically is brilliant!

Such intensive analysis could come off as dry, but these guys bring enough humor to...Read full review »

This is ambitious and unprecedented, a comprehensive examination of one film composer's prodigious 50-year career in Hollywood. Each episode has provided me with a deeper understanding of Goldsmith's writing, and I've loved hearing the early, more obscure material, in which his voice...Read full review »
