Binge-worthy
Ashelyn + Lacie bring the “beginner’s mind” to their quilting podcast. Listening is like hanging out with two quilting pals who explore every nuance from buying your first fabric/machine to navigating quilting guilds to fangirling over the artistry of other quilters. They station themselves as “between old and young” and also between novice and celebrity quilters, which gives their podcast a unique POV. I’ve been quilting a lot of years, and it was fun to think back to my roots as they share theirs. And in their dissection of the experience of things like “how to navigate a quilt shop” and “how to measure yardage,” they made me laugh and surprised me with little details I had forgotten or maybe never even known. The podcast feels like a WIP, and I love listening to them develop their purpose as the episodes stack up. Also! Many of the discussions about quilting get me thinking about artistry, ethics, morality, kindness, relationship-building, and helping a sister/brother out. Good stuff. Listen! It’s bingeworthy!

I look forward to each episode, as a new quilter I feel like they’re talking to me! Their easy style and relaxed chat is perfect listening while sewing, out walking, driving, whatever. I hope in time that they can build up to longer episodes as each one ends way too soon.
