“Often derided as being a more « degenerate » age than that of classical Greece by old school classicists, all too often overlooked in comparison to the rise of the republic, the ever-fascinating Hellenistic period is given due reverence in this excellent podcast. The host, Derek, successfully straddles the line between entertainment and educational media, presenting the Hellenistic world in a concise but not overly simplistic manner, and introducing his audience to the historiography underpinning his work. We can only wish for more history podcasts like this.”
