In 1904 President Theodore Roosevelt forever changed the direction of American domestic and foreign policy. He broke up the Northern Securities Company and his Roosevelt Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine led America to become the world’s police power.  Roosevelt exerted his political power by issuing 1,081 executive orders.
