Not Quite
I was only able to get through the first five episodes, to be fair. I tried, but it was excruciating. Critical flaw: Remarkably juvenile narration, wholly unnecessary and off-putting. Let your listeners figure it out, don’t lead them by the nose. The characterization, acting and overall story are clear (more than!) - even rather good - so why bother with the ridiculous narration? Utterly ruins the flow and narrative. Wasted potential; had so much hope for this. Also, the opening song is indeed pretty awful and silly (but thankfully short). Finally, while I’ll probably give up at this point, a character who comes off as being on the spectrum is treated in a less than compassionate manner. You might want to address that or more subtlety handle the comparison - doesn’t feel right... (but since I haven’t gotten further this may be addressed).

That’s all I could stand, cliche horrible characters, why does everything have to be about social justice and privilege these days? What happened to telling a good story without the b******t?

I listened to the first two episodes at the kickoff event... wow! I can’t wait for the season to start. Characters, mystery and a production level that rivals audiobooks I’ve paid for- do yourself a favor and try this one on for size!
