Today we begin a new series on goaltender Charlie Gardiner. We talked about Charlie about forty-or-so episodes ago, but this time we are going far deeper than just his death. This episode covers his early life from Scotland to Winnipeg to Chicago. He grows up playing a myriad of sports, including baseball, rugby, and hockey. We see him turn pro with the Winnipeg Maroons hockey team, which forces him to forfeit his amateur status in all other sports.
