Room for improvement
Maybe the host has gotten more skillful since he started, but in the first 5 episodes there are multiple production errors (room noise, bad cuts, no cuts or retakes where there ought to be some). The host comes across as a bit scattered and even ill prepared with his speech and presentation of the material Regardless I give a 3 because the information is interesting, the presenter doesn’t object his bias much at all, and it’s an underrepresented topic in the podcast market. I would suggest he puts more time in the editing room, practicing his speaking skills, and even reach out to scholars or other experts who would gladly give their time for free to talk in more detail about certain facets of the topic.

More reviews of The History Of Religions and their Gods!
Literarily everyone should listen to this podcast. I cannot believe how much work has gone into this, it’s presented with clarity, thoughtfully at times witty and always engaging

I’m a little late finding it, but this podcast is right up my alley. I love ancient history and religious origins/historicity. I also love that SGH/host speaks from a non-scholarly point of view, and knows all this stuff because he loves it. Great podcast, please keep it up!
