One small point; I really can't understand the why he pronounces 'Pleb' as it's 'Pleeeeb'. I was taught classical civilization by Paul Moreland, and 'Pleeebs' would have got me a thick ear! Otherwise, very entertaining.Read full review »

i never learned this much roman history in school and the history of the beginnings of rome are very detailed to understand the beginnings of the republic and the collapse and the birth of the imperial period. ....and neither was this podcast. I have listened to about 30 episodes now. Unlike pop histories, this one does not skip around, is chronological and makes some of the less colorful parts of Roman history interesting.Read full review »
