“The Hound of the Baskervilles by far my favorite mystery story ever. I have read it many times.
I have watched every film or televised interpretation of this novel. Each time I have been disappointed. The writers have either taken too many liberties with the plot, or abbreviated the story too much. Either way, the full flavor of the original is lost. I know that any book is better than an adaptation, but nobody has gotten even close to getting “The Hound” right.
This broadcast, though, is great. The deliberately paced reading by Bob Neufeld with his great sense stress conveys perfectly what I have envisioned every time that I have read this book.
If you like the Hound of the Baskervilles, this is a fantastic way to get a full impression. Just close your eyes...”
