“I’ve been making my way through every episode here and every video on YouTube. The way he interacts with with his daughter, students and listeners is a thing of beauty. Every episode is littered with nuggets of gold. Often he relates the historical events of yesterday to the challenges we face today with a clarity and poignancy that compels the listener to take responsibility for how we live our lives and parent our children, having a reverence for the larger intelligible sphere in which we live. From time to time he mentions a book he’s been working on about the history of the world. I’m sure many people - probably everyone who knows his work, genuinely hope he finishes it - I know I’ll put every other book aside to read it. In an age where PoMo has done a lot of destruction, I have the feeling he’ll give us something to remember what makes life worth living. He already does with these recordings.”
