Description
This is a big one lads. I promised you all bigger and better guests, and like my local postman; I've delivered. In another episode recorded in Belfast's Sunflower Public House, I've managed to get Hard Rain Soloist Ensemble and Irish Memory Orchestra flutist, Aisling Agnew to join me for a non-alcoholic pale ale and a wee chat. It's a bumper episode, so the chapters are down below if you wanna skip to a certain part, but it's well worth the time. Aisling talks about everything from her days in the 39th Old Boys Flute Band, to studying in London and Glasgow, and her love of contemporary music, as well as the importance of memorisation and her gorgeous wooden flute. If you're one of those people that hasn't caught the modern music bug, this episode is for you. Soak it all up everyone, Aisling is a player I've admired for a long time so this was a biggie for me personally and I hope you all get as much out of it as I did. You can find recordings and links for all of Aisling's projects over at www.aislingagnew.com. Two of her records, "Recital" and "BILDA" are on all your streaming services now. You can also google Hard Rain Soloist Ensemble or The Irish Memory Orchestra to catch more performance dates.
