Vocal fry on every episode makes it unlistenable
I really wanted to listen to this podcast every day, especially since the ubiquitous vocal fry on NPR makes everything put out by them unlistenable. But this podcast suffers from the same problem: vocal fry on pretty much every episode. I am guessing that NPR set the standard for what “newsy” radio sounds like, and even though that standard is unlistenably awful, WSJ is copying them. It’s a bad move. Vocal fry is lazy. And irritating. And copying NPR makes the WSJ look like an also-ran.

One of the best podcasts out there. A deep-dive analysis that is informative and at the same time a pleasure to listen to. Ideal for a commute

So good! Intelligent coverage and conversations. I look forward to the next installment. (I plan to share the Kalamazoo free education podcast with my students)
