I love the light-hearted feel of this podcast. Easy-listening chat paired with great culinary inspiration makes a perfect pairing!

One of my favourite podcasts. Big fan of Jay and his writing so natural bias towards this engaging always different and insightful podcast. The dialogue is invariably fast moving and funny; but interesting stories always.

Lovely podcast, funny and with a real family vibe amongst the panel. Great cooking tips and some fascinating food history. Highly recommended.

Every episode teaches and entertains. Lots the same but much different from my Canadian view. Panel members have great knowledge and host keeps it moving at a good pace

Witty, charming, relevant, tasty and fun! I never miss an episode and look forward to all of them. The host is wonderful!

I love this podcast. A lovely balance between fun and good culinary advice.

One of my favourite, relaxing podcasts. Perfect for popping on as I wash up or put clothes away. Had some really good insights to improve my cooking from here. However, the canned laughter occasionally grated on me. All in all, really good.

I love this podcast and the content is always so useful for inventive cooks. My main criticism is the heavy handed audio mix of the virtual audience... it’s SO annoying and frequently impedes hearing what the panel have to say. It needs a bit of finesse....

I started listening to this in 2020 and it’s just my kind of thing, but I guess they replaced a radio 4 studio audience with REALLY enthusiastic canned laughter and applause and it has honestly got on my nerves - I know it predates podcasting but it sounds like all the podcast-first shows I like,...Read full review »

Love this podcast. Real info pastried between fun and banter. Seasoned with wit and flair. Thank you.

On Saturdays pod it was claimed that a mix of 75% brown sauce and 25% sirancha makes a better addition to sausages than onion gravy. So gauntlet thrown down it had to be tested. Results. Where the sauce is undoubtably fantastic and a great addition to any table I don’t think it surpasses onion...Read full review »

In the winter I always prove my dough on the floor above the underfloor heating. If it’s not cold enough to have the heating on I warm the oven and prove the dough on the top of that in a glass bowl. I should clarify that I have a table top oven.

The Kitchen Cabinet makes me very happy! I said this spontaneously out loud this morning much to my husband’s amusement. I’ve learnt so many things and always enjoy the enthusiasm of the panel. Thanks everyone!

Superbly entertaining and informative, look forward to this dropping every week. Question, why no back catalogue guys.

Everyone talking so fast you can hardly picture what they’re saying? I liked this show initially but it’s trying too hard and the speed at which some of the panel are rattling off recipes is counter productive because the whole point of a food thing is to imagine the food. I don’t think you’ll...Read full review »

The range of ideas, the shared good fun and different locations make this a great podcast. For a foodie you need to listen to it again to write down the recipes. Always enjoyably informative.
Europeanfood via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 07/25/19
This is a pod that never fails to deliver. Great mix of foodie information, honest greedy thoughts ( Mainly Jay but Andi isn’t far behind) and practical idea on the stuff of life. At a time when food is often either portrayed as sinful indulgence to be avoided, or stratospheric gastronomy, this...Read full review »

Great show, Jay needs to sound a little less like he is reading from a script to make it more immersive

Just listened to the Kitchen Cabinet on a Saturday morning (on live radio) and really enjoyed this 30 minute program. Has interesting dishes, ideas, recipes, techniques and chat. Usually don’t listen to the radio at this time so I’m happy to subscribe to the podcast!

My favourite programme on the BBC. Never a dull moment with Jay and his panel. Funny, interesting, intelligent, the format is simple and genius. Jay Rayner is a legend!

I’ve really enjoyed listening to Jay Rayner and his wonderful guests for almost three years now. I always find the programme useful and interesting, whether it’s an idea for using an ingredient, or some fascinating foodie history from a region in the U.K. I especially enjoy Dr Annie Gray’s...Read full review »

A great look at food. A great show with a great host Jay Rayner and great contributors my personal favourites are Annie Gray and Tim Hayward. A great place to learn and all delivered with such humour. Don’t even mention the candle salad!

Upbeat version of the Food programme. Never dull, usually informative and funny. Great contributions from the guests and well kept in order by Rayner. Well worth a listen.
Smiler998 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 04/06/14
I found it a bit disappointing. There are not many questions asked by the audience in each episode, and some of the questions asked seem to be a little contrived. It has used a similar format as Gardeners Question Time without the success.
anniecbee via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 04/04/14
Funny conversations and interesting foodie tips.

A delightful show.

The forced, unfunny pre-show banter in the podcast is laboured and painful listening. But fast forward a minute or so and the show proper is great.
George Cockerill via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 07/24/13
Series started out a bit dull, but quickly picked up when the panel got comfortable with the format. Love the sharp wit and humor that shoots from one person to the next.
Ipadlurch via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/16/13
Am downloading these after catching a few this week on radio 4. Its a great format, relaxed but informative. Jay makes a great host too, hope there are many more to come
Edgar McTurlock via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 08/08/12
A brilliantly British show; proper experts, each trying to be more witty than the next. Makes for informed comedy. I was afraid the audience questions would be a letdown, but they are pre-selected, so interesting. I wish there were more episodes!

I only found this podcast last week but I find it excellent, only to be disappointed that this is the last of the series. Typically I get three of four ideas that I follow up on from each episode, whereas most food podcasts focus on one ingredient or recipe, and if that doesn't particularly...Read full review »
