It’s great when they talk Kojima
I’ve been listening since 2020, and I’ve learned SO MUCH about one of my favorite artists because of them (Blaustein stories, Fukushima lore, etc.). But their, “they don’t make ‘em like they used to” approach to practically any game made nowadays with a 7-figure budget is an eye roll at this point. I get it, most AAA games nowadays aren’t great, but so many of them carry influences directly from Kojima, and they never want to recognize that or break that down unless it’s about how bad new games are. Dig a little deeper, fam. The knee-jerk reaction to always want to bring art down because you don’t like it as opposed to critically thinking about how it fits in the larger cannon of culture, games, and Kojima is a missed opportunity. For those just tuning into the show, my fav ep. is #49 w, James Howell. Check it out!

The world of Metal Gear has taken up 30 years of my life and I’ve pondered on the thoughts that...Read full review »
