This video has been circulating on X. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson is asked what is on the dark side of the moon and why China is exploring it . His answer, “I have no idea”. ANSWER: There's an abundance of Helium-3 due to that part of the moon being exposed to solar winds at a higher degree. Astronaut Harrison Schmitt is the only living member of NASA’s last crewed mission to the Moon: Apollo 17 in 1972. A geologist, Schmitt has not stopped talking for the past 50 years about what he and his fellow Apollo astronauts discovered in the lunar regolith: helium-3. Schmitt – geologist and former NASA astronaut – has long advocated for mining Helium-3 on the moon as an alternative source of energy that could power us on Earth and in space travel. THIS is what China wants to mine on the moon. There’s more energy in the Helium-3 on the moon than there ever was in all of the coal, oil, or natural gas on the earth.
