Quirky, fun listen
Jill Lepore has a good ear for the unusual and a great sense for how to get from those little unusual stories to the present. Her episode on encyclopedias is well worth a listen!

So many more interesting and educational podcasts are available. I tried the first four episodes. Boring and the telling has begun to feel formulaic, especially with the cheesy voice actors. I like the premise of the new podcast and I normally love everything Jill Lepore does and writes, but do you really need the cheesy sound effects and actor voice re-enactments?! Ugh. It would be so much better if Jill just read it, she is a really good narrator.

I just wish I had come into this later when there would be more to binge. I have thoroughly enjoyed every episode. I’m a big fan of Prairie Home Companion and Live From Here, so I’m partial to the cheesy old radio show acting and sound effects.
