“I’m disappointed at how little sense of poetry and nuance these two hosts have. Too much literal examinations of the show and ratio-ing to the game. I suggest they study more cinema - for example, the films of Alfred Hitchcock, Chris Marker (La Jetée) and Fritz Lang - as well as filmic techniques like foreshadowing, visual narrative (as opposed to literal exposition) and editing. This is what happens when you rely far too much on a single medium (games) for your reference points. It helps to a little research before presentation.
I’d like to see a more expansive approach to conversations beyond just bouncing the show off the game. Neil Druckmann himself references some films that influenced him, for example. Craig Mazin has his own influences to speak to larger scopes than just the game.”
