Interesting Premise, not the best execution
I enjoyed the story being told, but did feel it was let down by the host’s attempts to center the narrative around himself (ie by promoting his music career or his activism barely tangential to the states topic). I can see what the host was aiming for by incorporating stories about native activism, water wars, land back movement and so on, but the connections to CalExit were just far too tenuous for a coherent narrative. The host is focused on activism for climate justice and issues affecting indigenous people, and he used every chance to discuss CalExit in light of those concerns while barely addressing the much more central and immediate issues of military bases, currency and so on. It felt like the host has a set of topics he wanted to discuss and sprinkled them into an otherwise unrelated and fairly linear story of the CalExit movement. I’d give it a pass

I appreciate how separate threads were woven for this interesting narrative. Nicely done

For starters, the folks that put this podcast together need not waste a second in firing the “fact checker”! Beyond that, the only people more supportive of California leaving the union is EVERY OTHER PERSON IN THE COUNTRY!

No one cares if California leaves the union, in fact, please do. Good riddance.
