Part actual play, Part self-indulgent behind the scenes, all crap.
Bleh. Just. Bleh. This podcast would be a lot better if they focused on playing rather than their information segments. The role-playing advice episodes have way too much banter and not enough substance, and the substantive bits aren’t really helpful for anyone with more than a session’s worth of experience in an RPG. Their advice tends to go like this: “Let’s talk about problem players.” “I think you should talk to problem players about why they’re a problem.” “Yes that’s a good idea.” Now stretch that out over a 30 minute segment. The jokes aren’t funny. The banter is egotistic, masturbatory nonsense that either sounds trite or comes off as a series of in-jokes from a party you weren’t invited to. I also have a hard time telling some of the hosts apart, and there are way too many of them all trying to get a word in. It’s confusing. Save your time with this one. Maybe check out Fear the Boot instead.
