“So disappointed. The first episode I listened to was great, full of really valuable and interesting information. I’m very interested in learning about the attachment styles and how they work together (or don’t!) There was some brief mention of their (the two women hosts’) personal faith in the first couple episodes, but I could get past that. But the comments about their Christian beliefs increased and by the sex episode it was ridiculous. She certainly only frames things in a hetero-normative way, and again, I’m willing to overlook that to a degree if the information is valuable (but would always rather things be more inclusive… given that she’s a professional with a PhD, who is giving relationship counseling and advice, I totally feel that she should be bound by her professional ethics to be inclusive and secular with her actual advice.) But wow, she absolutely lost me when she said that happiest marriages happen when the husband is the true leader and the wife picks a man who knows how to lead her and knows what’s best for her and the family and barf barf barf. And she does that “oh the feminists are going to hate me for this but it’s TRUE…” thing. Add to it a lot of red-flaggy anecdotes from the friend about her jealous husband and how he gets to decide whether or not she has a baby… just. Nope. So unfortunate. There REALLY should be a disclaimer in the description that this is a podcast for straight Christian married people.”
