Quest for truth
Very interesting and thought provoking. Thanks ladies Have you ever broadened your understanding of education as big as a quest for truth? Such a view allows us to explore the natural world using our senses recognising that God is our creator and has given us these gifts of learning and curiosity. But, I it also allows us to employ classical methods of teaching and learning recognising we learn a lot from the past and methods handed down from us are used for a reason. Christians don’t need to choose an with or. Both are valid. We can enjoy the riches of the arts and humanities realising that others before us have explored the human condition and reflected on it deeply. We have much to learn and enjoy in the great works of the masters. As we learn various skills including how to question evidence and how to argue we are able to pass truth to our children and equip them to recognise what is right. At its core education should be equipping us to learn what is true and therefore how to live. In this way we are indeed training our children in a certain set of values- but hopefully in a way that gives them freedom to choose with their eyes open. It is also true that they will learn skills for employment but these too are secondary to the big picture of searching for truth and meaning.

This podcast is a hit and miss. The theological seating of the interviewees is quite varied so as with all podcasts listen with discernment. Overall encouraging to hear God at work in His children.

I've loved listening to different women discussing how God is working in their lives. I appreciate the casual question/answer format. Looking forward to more episodes.Read full review »
