“Sometimes these guys have good insight but usually they are really repetitive and the takes are lukewarm/incorrect. Seems like what they suffer from most is that they put out 5 shows a week so in the off season or when game weeks are light the material is a little boring or repetitive. Leaving a 5 star review in hopes that they take some feedback to make improvements instead of bashing with a 1 star and offering nothing constructive.
They do bring is great guests on topics that otherwise get swept under the rug by other outlets (NHL24 review show was great!). The game recap shows are always great too.
That being said, I find they constantly contradict themselves between shows and always complain when outsiders/national writers don’t pick the hawks as the best in something.
I have an unfair vendetta against Mario. Every time he starts talking I think “here we go again” because he never puts together a coherent, concise thought. He just rambles and pauses to say “…look…” to make it seem like his thought is unique or insightful and usually it’s something everyone already knows.
I enjoy their fresh takes on hockey culture and how they seem to be pushing the sport in the right direction.”
