Melanin Medics presents the sixth and final conversation of ‘Why I fell in love with Medicine’ Black History Month Podcast series.  We speak to Professor Kevin Fenton who is currently a regional director in London, Public Health England. He has also held multiple exemplary roles prior to his current position. Professor Kevin Fenton has been prominent throughout the pandemic and is likely to remain so over the next year. He has highlighted the low uptake of COVID vaccinations in London and led consultation with Black and minority ethnic communities as part of a government review on the disparities in risks and outcomes in COVID. In this episode, he describes his experience coming the the UK to practice medicine after completing his studies in Jamaica. Prof Fenton also gives us an insight into how he has successfully navigated a career in public health that has encompassed Jamaica, US and the UK.
