Melanin Medics presents the fourth conversation of ‘Why I fell in love with Medicine’ Black History Month Podcast series. We speak to Obi Jude Nzeako (@drjude_) who is a consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon in South West London with specialist interests in Trauma and Upper Limb. He graduated from the University of Manchester with an elective at Yale, he then completed his foundation and Orthopaedic Surgical Training programme in London before moving to complete fellowship training in Trauma and upper limb Surgery at the University of Toronto in Canada, then at Guy’s & St Thomas Hospital in London.  He is a passionate teacher, who enjoys speaking and writing within his field. He is active on social media through Instagram and Youtube, where he aims to inspire, teach and motivate. In this episode, he describes his love for medicine and focused journey into Orthopaedic surgery.  Listen in as we address how to truly succeed as a black surgical trainee, the importance of mentorship, how to foster healthy habits and ways to avoid the (dreaded) burn out.
