“This podcast is brilliant for things such as mindset of poor eating, successfulness, how to succeed and how to change for the better basically! It should be commended for this, because it’s certainly made me think more about what I eat for sure, and be mindful of how I talk to myself.
Onto the real talk. Mimi’s intentions are good, and it comes across, but I think she needs to be mindful of the medical aspect of advice she gives. I’m a doctor, and don’t get me wrong, I fully agree on exercise, lifestyle and what you eat making a HUGE difference to your physical health and well-being. But in one podcast, it’s basically implied that a woman’s cancer diagnosis should be managed with healthy diet. Again, I agree this is important, but many of the podcasts I feel are quite derogatory of medical professionals. These people are educated and work off their (intensively studied and tested) evidence base, so please, please, please be mindful of what message you’re putting out there. Advising girls to use to pull out method is a bit irresponsible, and contraception has its place in management of conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, and there are many different options. I agree with your message to an extent, but be mindful of how it comes across. Medicine has its place for a reason, and we are lucky that our main issue for our health is to be mindful of exercise and diet, rather than something more serious.
Overall though love this podcast, I think she is such a girl’s girl, and I love that! Women need to have each other’s backs, and this podcast epitomises that.”
