Dr. Kee B. Park and Luca Granato discuss unmet global neurosurgical needs and strategies to improve global neurosurgery, as well as public health issues and their relation to global politics. Dr. Kee Park is the Director of Policy and Advocacy at the Global Surgery and Social Change program at Harvard Medical School, as well as the Director of the North Korea Program at the Korean American Medical Association, where he leads the collaboration between US and DPRK physicians working towards increasing standards of neurosurgical care in the DPRK. Dr. Park is the Editor-in-Chief of the newly founded Journal of Global Neurosurgery. Dr. Park is also consultant for the World Health Organization and serves on the WHO Expert Advisory Panel on Surgical Care and Anesthesia.
