“I’ve only listened to one episode, and overall it was positive! I liked what they had to say, I liked their conversation back and forth, and I liked these two women overall. I had two issues that I had a really hard time getting past. First, Sarah’s voice was so much quieter than Lauren’s. I would turn it up to hear her better, then be blasted by Lauren’s voice. It would be great to have the audio levels fixed so they were more even. I could see that being an issue that would eventually be annoying enough to stop listening.
Second, I listened to the episode about 10 Habits of a Happy Marriage. Fifteen minutes in, I had to make sure I actually chose that episode because we were on a huge tangent! In fact, they didn’t get to the marriage discussion until halfway through (nearly 30 minutes?!), and didn’t get to the 10 habits until 3/4ths of the way through! I’m all for segments and off topic tangents, but they need to be short. I definitely expect to get to the topic advertised by 10 or so minutes in. The funny thing is, I think if I had gone into the episode prepared to talk about commencement/convocation addresses, I would have really enjoyed the discussion! But because I went in looking for a discussion on marriage, I was pretty turned off by the time we got there. This episode could have been split into two great episodes, very easily.
For both these issues, I’ve only given it three stars. I hope this can be improved, because I could see this becoming one of my favorite regular podcasts, but only if these two issues are addressed. I’ll definitely have to listen to more, and if these problems were just confined to this episode, I’ll come back to review it differently.”
