Perfect For NYC (and everywhere else)
As a New Yorker, I like to claim things as the City’s own, including The Moment. Brian’s accomplished, respected, insightful, and gets great guests, of course. But there’s something inherently New York about the podcast. Brian’s from the area and still lives here. He records here. I won’t say a majority of his guests are New Yorkers, but it seems there have been more guests from New York than any other locale (LA’s had its share). Yes, it’s a great listen anywhere. But there’s something to be said for walking by Rockefeller Center listening to Brian interview Seth Meyers. Or riding the subway to Queens while Michael Rapaport is gleefully spewing James Dolan-induced expletives and talking about getting kicked out of school. Or getting a slice at Joe’s while Tim Herlihy talks about Big Daddy. Brian’s passion for the city elicits the same feelings from his guests, and it just makes listening feel like more of an event. Week after week I think “Man, he knows a lot of great people, can he really keep doing this every week for X amount of years?” Here’s hoping he does.

More reviews of The Moment with Brian Koppelman
I had no idea who Brian Koppelman was, but since I like Chuck Klosterman I downloaded his first podcast. Ever since then I have been listening to Brian’s podcast. I enjoy hearing how people “made it,” but I also enjoy how people have dealt with failures along the way. Keep it up Brian!
