The Best Part of Any Day
Took me far too long to finally post a review here for a podcast that has brought me this much joy, but better late than never... The Moviefilm Podcast is far and beyond my favorite podcast. Listening to it feels like drinking a hot cinnamon-spiced apple cider near a fire place on a brisk fall evening surrounded by loved ones. I have lost track of the amount of times I have said, “I was talking to some friends about this the other day” only to remember I had actually just heard it on this podcast and talked to my phone pretending I was part of the conversation. The engrossing nature of the podcast is not only a testament to the hosts’ wonderful friendship and chemistry, but also to their individual strengths and qualities. Zaki imparts more knowledge of the Marvel Universe/Star Trek universe/movies in general than I ever thought I’d learn, while never avoiding the sociopolitical aspects of whatever topic is at hand (think gender/racial/religious disparities, C.K., and the Me Too movement to name a few), making pertinent, thoughtful, and refreshing arguments. Meanwhile, Brian has completely changed the way that I watch, absorb, and appreciate movies, from the scores to the credits, and I don’t know anyone who works harder to find the good in even the worst of movies, likely out of the respect he has for the hard work that goes into creating them regardless of the quality. Plus, he sounds dreamy. Their passion for movies is palpable and addictive, and leads listeners to feel engaged and part of the conversation in a way that no other podcast I’ve listened to does. Thank you for getting me through long drives, dragging work days, and menial tasks! Can’t wait for the next episode :) - MFP’s #1 Groupie

Each episode I learn something new about actors I watch or connections about the films on facts I never knew! I’m in love with all the nostalgia stuff and the podcast on die hard earlier this...Read full review »
