“What makes a great movie podcast? Deep knowledge, respectful criticism and well timed humour. Moviefilm exceeds in all these categories but that is not what makes it great. There is a certain something you can’t fake or produce: friendship. Zaki and Brian keep me salivating for more content not because of the well-timed yet obscure Simpsons references, or the way Zaki can make you rethink how you feel about a film with his deep insight, but the way their interactions aren’t forced. The banter between these two works so well you will hate your own friends for not being as tight with you as these two are. In a world filled with hyperbolic, emotional criticism, nothing is more soothing than man who can confidently say “Prince of Persian is meh…totally fine, check it out”. Somebody once commented that they are a modern day Siskel and Ebert and I couldn’t agree more. In the end I guess you could say my feelings about The MovieFilm Podcast are best summed up in the form a limerick…
