“Looking forward to when this comes back! PFT and Nicole are masters of character work, and in a world of both “free form” improv and “high concept” podcasts, it’s refreshing to find a mix of both that mines new ground while still manages to come off naturally. As a follower of several similar neighborhood groups on Facebook, the mixed tone of self-importance and small-town ignorance is spot on. As is common with the Earwolf/PFT family tree of shows, the usual suspects (Tart, Lapkus, Diston, Gourley, Holland to name just a few) are reliably great, but even episodes with “new to me” guests are guaranteed to be entertaining due to Paul and Nicole’s perfect tone-setting, world building, and game finding. Like a combination of Springfield/Pawnee, this is a rich world of familiar characters anybody from a small town can relate to.”
