Description
This is the second part of a 3-hour Lecture, featuring Fr. Hyvenson Josephs updating the Caribbean Thought class at Jamaica Theological Seminary regarding the latest in #haiti as we explore Post-Independent #caribbean today and the challenge for #democracy: We learned that: 1. The gangs have taken over the country including the National Library and Museum stealing art pieces worth millions. 2. Dr. Ariel Henry is still exiled in #puertorico but refuses to resign until his idea for a presidential college is implemented, as the #haitian constitution is rebuffed by the actions of a foreign core group pulling Haiti's strings. 3. Haitians continue to call for a #haitian-led solution 4. while #canada, one of the core group of post-industrial countries that controls Haiti trains #jamaican military to go to #haiti ignoring #caricom's charter promoting Caribbean Unity and Independence as it safeguards Caribbean Sovereignty. 5. The gangs feel justified in their takeover highlighting the external gangs that control Haiti today which is unconstitutional.
