“Hi Mike,
I am no expert on architecture, but I am a big Greco Roman history and mythology nerd. So, the thing about the sun shining in a different spot everyday could be referencing two things in my opinion. One could be a reference to the Roman Pantheon which is a building in Rome and was engineered so that the sun would shine on the doorway on the day of the founding of Rome. Another thing could be something godly like Apollo changing it everyday or if you remember about Camp Half Blood the gods basically control the weather because of the Thalia tree forcefield or whatever, so the gods could canonically make it so that the Sun would shine to fit the temple’s requirements everyday. Think of the big storm that zeus held over the camp to punish “percy” for stealing the master bolt.
Anyway that is my two cents on the temple question.
Thanks for making this entertaining podcast,
