OIL STREAM POSTGAME: Oilers outclass Kings to win 4-1
Listen now
Description
Tom Gazzola looks back on everything that happened in tonight's game between the Edmonton Oilers and the LA Kings.   Former NHLer Matt Kassian joins the show to break down the game sharing his insight. He thought that the Oilers played with just the right amount of grit before getting into the play by Blake Lizotte.   Kass and Gazzola talk about Vinny Desharnais and how his play might bring the Oilers trouble in the playoffs.   The boys talk about the bend-not-break mentality and look at each period from an Oilers stand point.   Zachticum holds things down back at the EST Global HQ where he calls 'The Big Save of The Game for Christopher Boyle' and 'The Player of the Game presented by Damon Bunting.'   We hear the voices of Stuart Skinner, Adam Henrique and Connor McDavid.   During the game, Connor McDavid scored about 5 minutes into the game taking the lead early for the Oilers. Both sides played very physical, with Kane and McDavid laying some bombs for the oil. The next goal wouldn't come until the final minute of the second period when Leon Draisaitl rips around the zone wide, down below the next to shovel and high-rising backhand off the crest of Henrique to make it 2-0 in Rogers Place. The Oilers killed a two-minute powerplay before the oil rallied back with Bouchard ripping one past Talbot to extend the lead to 3. Kaliyev scored to break the SO and Ceci sends home the empty netter to get the W.
