“The show tackles a challenging issue that often is quietly overlooked. At first I didn’t realize that “the only one in the room” really meant telling our truth about being “the only one in the room.” Wow, at 27- I was CEO of a $250MM dollar Jv that I structured and led. Of course out of 400 employees and 8 offices, I was the only one leading such a firm. Before social media to expose me. Actually, my grandmother told me to NOT tell anyone or I would never get a husband. She was correct! I digress, after the death of my mom at 48-years of age, I removed myself from the global stage quietly had a son, and became invisible. Not true- landed at a multi billion dollar real estate development firm and people knew my name! Thankfully still no social media so they assumed I was a caucasian female, then I moved to Orange County and soon after social media arrived- I’m still the only one in the room in Real Estate Development, Venture Capital, esports, cryptocurrency, cannabis and more!
