Apple trees are not native to North America
I have a problem with the part of the show advertising apple cider as a means to save the planet or to saving the diversity of apple trees. Pretty much all apple trees in North America are non-native species. Promotion of planting more non-native species on our continent actually leads to a reduction in biodiversity and can do more harm than good. Native insects have always had issues adapting to non native plants as a food source. Without the insects, birds and other animals lose a major food source. Another problem I have is that there is nothing mentioned about if these apple trees are being grown organically or how increasing consumption of unnecessary beverages just leads to more unnecessary use of resources and higher carbon emissions. I don’t want to get too long winded, but I think there needs to be a little more thought put into what the Sierra Club is promoting. I have been a Sierra Club member for a few years and am always on the fence about whether or not to stay a member. You all do some things right, but seem to be oblivious to a lot of other things...

Great mix of practical every day to big picture news on the climate. Not going to lie, it’s made me cry some days, but other times like the Tompkins creation of a huge natural preserved area the size of Delaware in Chile gives me hope..

Love the content, interviews, and Mr. Green. But why does it sound like the host is trying to talk like Ira Glass?
