“I love this pudcast!
Paul is obviously a long-standing and lauded (rightly so) stand up comic but I think although it’s a relatively new venture for him (I think), he is an excellent interviewer.
I think specifically what that excellence entails is that he (mainly!) likes his guests; he is a friend/fan of many but he does his research really well, is an expert in comedy and it’s history, he asks forensic questions, challenges responses, plays devil’s advocate. I think he is very open to people turning the tables on him. He is obviously good at rinsing hecklers at his gigs but I find him very humble in these interviews. It’s all funny and entertaining too of course!
I have listened to every single episode whether I’ve heard of the person or not (like I would with other great interviewers like Louis Theroux) because I know it will be done so well and not be sycophantic or in the manner of just a casual celebrity sideline gig. It feels like this is done seriously and not casually.
Anyway I wanted to write to let Paul know in case he read these reviews!”

Ep 4 Iain Lee. Could be a series on its own I reckon. So good, quite intense.
Needed ep 6 with Shappi Khorsandi to recover.
